Drone Building Inspection and Surveying Services Ltd is regulated by RICS for the provision of surveying services. This means we agree to uphold the RICS Rules of Conduct and all other applicable mandatory professional practice requirements of RICS, which can be found at www.rics.org. The service
- Level 2 and Level 3 surveys are carried out in line with the RICS Home Survey Standard. Your terms describe what is and is not inspected at the level you choose.
- We do not provide a valuation, a market value opinion or a reinstatement cost assessment.
- For a Level 3, a drone roof inspection is included where flight is permitted. If airspace rules or the weather prevent the flight, we deduct the drone element or refund it if already paid. Where practical we may offer to return and fly within 14 days instead.
- Reports are typically issued within 5 working days of the inspection, or within 2 working days if you choose the express option. We offer you a call with the surveyor after the report is issued.
Fees and payment
- Our fees are fixed and include VAT at 20%. Your quote shows every item, including any travel supplement or option you choose.
- We invoice you after the inspection. Payment is due within 5 days of the invoice date, unless we agree otherwise with you in writing. We release the report once the fee has been paid. We never add a charge for paying by card.
- Any fee paid in advance is payment of our agreed fee for the surveying services described in your terms. It is not client money and is not protected by the RICS client money protection scheme.
Use of artificial intelligence
We use AI tools to transcribe the surveyor's site dictation and to draft report text from his own notes and photographs. All findings, condition ratings, costs and advice are the surveyor's own, and every report is reviewed and signed by Andrew Parker AssocRICS MCIOB. When you sign our terms online we ask for your separate consent to this use. You can refuse, or withdraw your consent before the inspection; the report is then prepared without AI and may take up to 3 additional working days. See our AI statement.
Your right to cancel
You have the right to cancel this contract within 14 days without giving any reason. The cancellation period expires 14 days after the day the contract is entered into, which is the day you accept our terms.
To cancel, tell us (Drone Building Inspection and Surveying Services Ltd, 8 Ritcroft Street, Hemel Hempstead HP3 8PF; 07572 190983; info@dbiss.uk) by a clear statement, for example by email. You may use the model cancellation form below, but you do not have to.
If you cancel, we will refund all payments received from you without undue delay and within 14 days of the day you tell us. We use the same payment method you used, and you will not pay any fees for the refund.
If you asked us to carry out the inspection during the cancellation period, you must pay an amount in proportion to the service provided before you told us you were cancelling. Your right to cancel ends once the report has been delivered, if you asked us to begin within the cancellation period and acknowledged that you would lose the right.
When you sign our terms online, you can ask us to inspect within the 14-day period by ticking this statement: "I ask you to carry out the inspection within the 14-day cancellation period. I understand I will lose my right to cancel once the report is delivered, and that if I cancel before then I will pay for the service provided up to that point."

Complaints
We have a complaints handling procedure, and consumers can refer an unresolved complaint to CEDR, our independent redress scheme, free of charge. See our complaints procedure.
Your data
We process your personal data as controller under UK GDPR, as described in our privacy notice. Survey files are kept for 15 years.
Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Nothing in them affects your statutory rights.
